MLK Service Project Weekend:
January 16–18, 2027
Lend a hand and make a difference! Volunteers are critical in helping the committee prepare for the future. Join us in a leadership role or behind the scenes. Volunteer opportunities include grant writing, fund-raising, assessing needed repairs on homes, recruiting House Captains, and more.
Thanks to all our generous sponsors. We could not pull off this event without your support!
Dine out for a great cause! Restaurants for Repairs brings our community together for delicious dining to support critical repairs for neighbors in need. Join us for our four Dine Out Nights each week in October.
Begun in 2003, Decatur’s MLK Jr. Service Project provides free house maintenance and repair for Decatur’s needy senior homeowners each January. In January 2015, approximately 1,300 volunteers contributed over 10,000 hours of time helping 41 senior households during the 3-day weekend project. Thank you for helping these seniors to live more safely, comfortably and affordably in their homes as a result of these much needed repairs and yard work. We look forward to your joining us during the next Decatur Martin Luther King Jr. Service project, which will take place January 16, 17, and 18, 2016.
